The Mission behind the creation of Set The Pace Track Club, is to teach the youth that we engage with the fundamentals of Track and Field. We wanted to not only get the youth active but also teach the youth how to properly be an effective track & field athlete. Our goal is and will always be to develop the skills needed to progress in athletics and in life.
Set The Pace Track Club was founded by Mark Greene & Preston Mays in 2018. We serve the Tri-County area of NE Ohio and local community by providing opportunities for youth to train and compete in track and field with discipline and purpose. We develop young athletes mentally and physically and prepare them for college competition. We foster self-esteem, encourage healthy choices, and train rigorously to help our athletes achieve their goals.

Set The Pace Track Club seeks to do its part in assisting the communities of Mahoning & Trumbull counties in its efforts to curve youth violence by creating a safe and disciplined environment where youth can express themselves in a positive way through sports.
Participation in youth sports spurs health consciousness as poor eating habits tend to lead to poor performances. Youth sports have been found to stir amazing things in the lives of our youth especially those who feel they have no hope.
Youth sports are the ultimate classroom. Kids learn the importance of:
o respect for authority and rules, and
o how to win in life with class and lose with dignity.
We participate in three to five practice meets per season, to prepare for the USATF (United States of America Track and Field) district, regional, and national competitions for athletes who qualify for the USATF Hershey National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships July 23-29, 2018 North Carolina A&T University Greensboro, NC
Our training is based on form and function principals. The basics include stretching, calisthenics, some weightlifting, and resistance training to improve performance. Once an athlete acquires a solid understanding of their event and is physically competitive, we tailor their training to maximize strengths and minimize weaknesses.
